"Herding Cats"

Well, I finally moved into my new studio space which is absolutely fabulous. Now I have a space large enough to be able to paint large canvases, which I have always wanted to do. Since I moved in, I have been extremely busy trying to put together a cohesive body of work that I feel good about. Recently have been submitting my work to various galleries, with the hope of getting into a few shows. So far so good, I was accepted into a show called "Herding Cats" at the Brush Gallery in Lowell, MA. I have to admit I am pretty happy about getting in. The juror was from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Anyway, I will keep you posted as what happens with the other submissions. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This is a spread that I did for Spider Magazine which came out for the November/December issue. I was really pleased with the reproduction. The colors are so close to the original. Happy Holiday's!

Home for Thanksgiving

My two college age children just flew in from different parts of the country, so I am off to the airport to pick them up. I am so excited to see them.

This piece "Ma's Diner", I decided to rework from an older illustration that I had done many years ago. I liked the concept so much, that I thought it was worth trying to make it better.

New Work

It has definitely been a while since I posted anything on my blog. I have been very busy creating new images for my agent and for the many websites that I like to keep up to date. Recently I purchased a Cintiq that has been such an amazing tool. I absolutely love the way my work looks after working in Painter and Photoshop. Hope you enjoy the work.

Well I spent a good part of my day on Amazon.com watching the sales rank of my book "Let My People Go." To my amazement, it was ranked at #1 for most of the day under religious children's books. WOW! I couldn't be happier. Thanks to everyone who appreciates a fun take on a rather dry topic. Ilene

My new book"Let My People Go" just came out as of February 1. It was so much fun to illustrate. This was the first time I have had the opportunity to do biblical illustrations. Kar-Ben decided to create a fun Passover book. This will be a great book to use during the Sedar.
